ZAZZLE!

So last night I was bored and decided to create a merchandise store for anyone who wants to request certain images on clothing, accessories and MORE!!!

ErinEliseMerch is officially OPEN for BUSINESS!! See You There :-)

Design personalized gifts at Zazzle.

P.S. I do not get much of the profit at all - a few dollars on an average t-shirt - so it's really just to get my face and name out there in the world :-)

What should I be doing today??

My night was a mess, so now any mood I planned on being in today is also a mess. My eyes are pooooooofy and my hair is a bird's nest..... I think I need me some Kandee or Buck to turn this around...

I definitely want to go see MJ's This Is It today as a matinee, since I know that won't be sold out AND it'll be a little less expensive at the only theatre in Ypsi - the always overpriced Showcase Cinema

I also REALLY need to go grocery shopping, but I also really want to start my story for JRNL 215 that is due on Tuesday, since I already have my interview's answers patiently awaiting my arrival in Gmail...

What to do, what to do?!?!

I, again, still need to add more new songs to the set list for Sunday. I've added about 6 already, but need more!! Requests are always a plus :-)

Nikki & Whitney are upstairs having a homework party - I feel like I should be up there with them, but I'm not sure that I'm in the right state of mind to write good journalism right now... blogging might be as good as my writing gets today...

more MJ worship

Originally, I was going to cover this song around mid-June, and then I got the news of MJ's death. I felt that I could do this song as a tribute, but I didn't feel right about it because it isn't one of the songs he is known for. So (as you can see) I did "Black or White" instead and "Scream" got put on the back burner. I forgot about it until a few days ago, so I reworked a few of the aspects in my background track and decided to finally out it up (a month and a half later...). Hope you enjoy it!

tribute

I was really heartbroken when I heard of Michael's passing. Here's my tribute:

vent vent venty vent vent vent

Alright, so here's the whole story... everyone keeps asking and I think I've explained it about 100,000 times in the past 2 weeks so here it all is in one swift story:

MaHealani (a manager at an entertainment company in South Dakota) messaged me on MySpace because she really enjoyed listening to me sing on MySpace Karaoke. Then after I messaged her back, she told me that if I wanted to be serious about singing, I could audition for this female group she is putting together. All I had to do was send her pictures (head & body shots), a biography, an essay about why I want to be in the entertainment industry, and a vocal demo containing 4-5 songs. So this past Monday (June 8th) I was officially done recording my demo, printing out pics at CVS's Kodak machine, and writing biographies and essays. I, of course, sent the package to MaHealani by overnight so she'd get it ASAP. When she got it yesterday morning at 11am, she told me that she loved everything, except that I did sing any pop on the demo. She also asked me if I like any Pussycat Dolls or Wu Tang, and if I do, I need to record it and send a whole new demo to her with pop music on it. SO last night, I sat up until midnight getting my hands on karaoke tracks of Lady Gaga, Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears, Katy Perry; all the hits, you know. Now I just have to suck it up and go back to Woodshed Studios and record some lame pop music. Ugh. That's where the story meets today.

Oh, but MaHealani's Sony/Virgin Records partner, Bruce, needs to see the package as well and agree with her, which she assured would definitely happen. As of right now, she said that I am one of her TOP picks (and she did capitalize TOP)! She also told me that if I get chosen I would need to fly to California for a MONTH to have the first hit single recorded by August. Crazy, eh? Bruce pays for the girls to stay at a hotel for that month and just be in the studio day and night. AHHHHHH!

Now that you know the whole story, you can help me. I've already gotten a lot of opinions, and they've helped my internal pro/con list I have going. The only trouble is that I now know that this female group is going to sing pop music because she said the only reason she asked me to record pop is because of the type of music the female group would be recording... and you guys know me... do I look like the next friggin' pussycat doll hoe? I don't think so. Anyway, I'm having this terrible internal struggle with myself because this (being a famous performer) has been my dream since I was 7 years old, and now it's THROWING-FLAILING-SCREAMING- itself at my face and I don't know what to do because I know that I won't be happy.

HOWEVER, I did just described every music success story in history...

*acoustified*

Here are 2 p!nk songs I've been working on today. Just for the hell of it, I thought I'd "acoustify" them. Hope you like 'em!

LIVE performance - captured by my dad :-)

So right now, I've been recording in the studios to get a demo done to send to Sony/Virgin Records and the man that is playing my acoustic song's guitar part had a gig at Nick's 22nd Street Steakhouse tonight. Because the favor was so last minute, he asked me to sing at his gig as a practice for the recording session at the studio!! Needless to say, it went fantastic but my camera wasn't working up to par, so my dad could only get little tid-bits. But here is a small look at what when down at the gig! I sang "The One That Got Away" by P!nk and got a HUGE response!! It was fabulous. Thanks to Jim Walsh, I had a great time practicing the song in front of a live audience.

Take a look----------------------------------

Love love.

holding my last breath...

So LOTS have happened - I explain in the video in greater detail, but this is one of the songs I need to put on my demo, but I just discovered this song (again) last night and I wanted to try it my own way and see what kind of reaction I get... do you dig it? Let me know!!

even MORE p!nk

I was in a sassy mood yesterday so I decided to record some a Capella action. "The One That Got Away" is a song by P!nk from her album Try This. I hope you like it!

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

more p!nk

I LOVE THIS SONG! You should, too ;-) You can find the real version on P!nk's newest release, Funhouse!

I would have played the piano part myself, but the rhythms of the piano and vocal parts don't exactly match. Needless to say, I had a very difficult time attempting to play/sing this song simultaneously. Even 12 years of piano training could only go so far!!

Hope you like it!

Love.

so I'm trying this whole "songwriting" thing.

Alright. So I suck at writing lyrics. They always come out super corny and lame. But I wrote this last night/just now, and I feel good about it. Al said it wasnt' corny, but the rhymes were sort of lame every once in a while.

Now, I need some actual critism. Seriously. If you hate it and it sucks, tell me. Or maybe there is a particular line that just really sucks. I know they're out there... trust me. This is a huge step I am taking for myself by putting this out there on the world wide web... I'm taking huge chance that I might humiliate myself...

Anyway. Here it is. Be constructive with your criticism.

My Ghost

Verse 1:
I remember when we’d stay up all night
Or when we stared up at the stars from the roof of your car.
Like that time when I panicked and felt so alone
You knew exactly what do to; look how far we’ve come.
I knew it would be hard
but nobody could have prepped me
for what this has become.
Now it’s up to me
to be strong for us so we
can make it through this storm.

Chorus 1:
How am I supposed to deal with living my life in slow motion?
What am I supposed to feel when I'm miles away from my devotion?
I’m gonna bow my head, close my eyes and kneel; prayin’ this’ll get clearer with time.
Long enough for my heart to heal so we can make it through this storm and be just fine.

Verse 2:
I remember when we’d stay up all night
Or how we spent our first date watching Uma kill the Crazy 88.
Like those times I was there for your cure,
You turned that all around with your love, sober.
I knew what was in store
But I thought I could control
The feelings distance carries with.
Now it’s up to me
To be strong for us so we
Can make this living hell a myth.

Chorus 2:
How am I supposed to deal with so much love in the air, making me sick?
What am I supposed to feel when I'm waiting around for something else to click?
I’m gonna bow my head, close my eyes and kneel; prayin’ for the strength I seek for you.
Long enough for my heart to heal so we can make it through this storm and this’ll all be through.

Verse 3:
I know I might be complainin’
But I need to stop the pain and shame and
I thought that we could be together
I think that it is now or never

Chorus 1:
How am I supposed to deal with living my life in slow motion?
What am I supposed to feel when I'm miles away from my devotion?
I’m gonna bow my head, close my eyes and kneel; prayin’ this’ll get clearer with time.
Long enough for my heart to heal so we can make it through this storm and be just fine.

music lovers need to hear this song!

Recently, I family member of mine told me that my style of vocals reminds him of Esthero. I believe it.

ordinary day

So I'm back in the city, which is a real relief. But being up in Rose City for 3 days was a pretty nice escape, even though the sole reason was not a pleasant one. On Sunday night, I had dinner with 30 of my family members. And I'm not including children. In fact, I was the youngest. It was hectic as hell. Unfortunately, it takes a tragedy for us to get together nowadays because of work and location. But the food & drink were fantastic and the company was as well. The military burial in Holly (Great Lakes National Cemetary) this morning was beautiful. I think that part was the hardest for all the children of his who attended. When the trumpeteer began playing TAPS it was all over. Enough said.

So now, I have closure, and so does the rest of my giant family. But for the family members who stayed in Rose City today, this week will be spent cleaning years of history out of Grandma's house. I'm sure we'll end up with half of it...

I hope to go back up there and visit Grandma with the parents or with the cousins. It's only a 2.5 hour drive.

Not bad at all.

The pic below is of my Grandma (in the middle) and all her kids, after the ceremony in Rose City yesterday morning. John, Steve (my dad), David, Grandma, Maria, Ruth, Kathleen.

Everything is settled. For now...

death in the family :-(

Don't you hate it when the sky is open and clear, you're being productive, you're in a great mood and then all of a sudden, bad news is spread and the sky is gray clouds with pouring rain? That is the story of my life today.

Yes, I'm ok and no, I don't want to talk about it. The funeral will be sometime in the beginning of next week. I'm sure I'll be disconnected for a few days so when I do not respond, do not be surprised or alarmed.

I am simply trying to make myself feel better on this nasty day when the cable will only stay unscrambled for more than 2 minutes...

Keep in mind, this is a little formal compared to my newer songs, but hopefully, you'll dig it anyway!!
